Thank you for choosing Positz Tyre Levers to assist you with tyre removal. This usage guide will provide you with instructions on how to properly use the Positz Tyre Levers for efficient and safe tyre maintenance. Please note that tyre levers should not be used during tyre installation to avoid damaging the tyre or inner tube. Let’s begin!
Step 1: Preparing for Tyre Lever Use
- Ensure you have a set of Positz Tyre Levers. Each set typically includes two or three levers.
- Familiarize yourself with the design and construction of the tyre levers. Positz Tyre Levers are made from durable and lightweight materials for easy handling and optimal leverage.
Step 2: Tyre Removal
- Start by deflating the tyre completely by depressing the valve core and allowing all the air to escape.
- Insert one tyre lever between the tyre bead and the rim, slightly away from the valve stem. Push the lever downward to pry the bead over the rim.
- With the first lever in place, insert another lever a few inches away from the first one. Slide the lever along the rim, prying the tyre bead off the rim as you go.
- Repeat the process with a third lever if necessary, ensuring that the bead on one side of the tyre is completely detached from the rim.
- With one side of the tyre bead off the rim, remove the inner tube from inside the tyre, taking care not to damage the tube or the valve stem.
Step 3: Tyre Installation
- When installing a tyre, it is recommended to use your hands instead of tyre levers. This reduces the risk of damaging the tyre or inner tube.
- Starting at the valve stem, insert one side of the tyre bead onto the rim by hand, ensuring the bead sits inside the rim’s channel.
- If necessary, use your hands to gradually slide the remaining side of the tyre bead onto the rim. Take care to avoid pinching the inner tube between the tyre and the rim.
Step 4: Post-Installation Check
- Carefully inspect the tyre to ensure it is evenly seated on the rim without any twists or bulges.
- Confirm that the inner tube is not pinched between the tyre and the rim.
- Gradually inflate the tyre, monitoring the pressure with a gauge and inflating it to the recommended PSI indicated on the tyre sidewall.
- Double-check the tyre and tube to ensure there are no visible defects or misalignments.
